A Tale of Two Levels
At Caton, we have always counted themselves very lucky. We work in a tiny village set amongst undulating hills dotted with peacefully grazing sheep. In the village centre, in pride of place, sits an ancient oak tree, where local myths speak of the druids.

Willow Mill itself was built as a corn mill in 1790. Sitting on top of the slate roof is an open timber cupola- a small dome on a circular base. Originally used to let in more light, it’s now a local curiosity and many a tourist gets a crick in the neck trying to explain it.
We originally all worked in just one unit, but as we have grown, we expanded over two floors but there was a catch.

No indoor staircase.
As seeing each other face-to-face involved a 4- or 5-minute hike through the carpark, round the building, across a bridge, and through various doors… we decided the time had come to make some changes! Afterall, if Metropix can put stairs in a building in seconds, why couldn’t we?

Week 1: Dust sheets out and everyone is sent home.
Of course, real life is not as easy as Metropix. Holes were bashed through the ceiling and some of that ancient dust was finally disturbed!
It looks a mess…
… but, it was starting to take shape!

Week 2: We are allowed back in!
Can you believe how quickly this has been done?
Being reunited has transformed us into one big, happy team again!
