Open source EPC data presents new opportunity for time saving

2nd May 2017

Landmark’s Estate Agency Services have announced a new to market alert service that identifies whether a property has a valid EPC, what the current rating is, and when the existing certificate expires.

The recently launched umbrella division, bringing together established product and service providers to the estate and lettings agency sector including Metropix, GoView, Compliance in a Box and Mouseprice, has moved quickly to take advantage of the recent decision to make EPC data publicly available.

The unique alert, launched for users of the Compliance in a Box service this week, will highlight the details of the EPC to users of the Compliance in a Box services, negating the need to separately investigate the EPC Register. The service will launch for Metropix mid-May.

Says managing director Phil Natusch: “With the 10 year anniversary of EPCs upon us, we’re now entering the period when the original reports are starting to expire and the next round of assessments are required. In addition, from 1st April 2018 the minimum rating for rental property will be E.”

“The Alert service will ensure sales agents are switched on to whether or not the property needs an EPC; enabling managing agents to be proactive with their landlords and lettings stock to ensure no one falls foul of the new regulations.”

Director of Agency Services, Ben Robinson adds “We have 10 years’ experience of delivering EPCs nationally. Our objective has always been to make the lives of our clients easier and we can now deliver the relevant information and a simple solution where new assessments are required from one place.”

The innovation is one of a number of ambitious projects the division is working on to deliver market leading solutions to Estate Agents. It follows the release of SmartVal, an online lead capture tool capturing enquirer details in exchange for property valuations; and Metropix Mobile, an app version of the popular floor plan software which is currently in a trial phase.
